Scenic and Lighting Design
I have designed both scenery and lighting for 59 plays--10 professional and 49 academic productions. I have also covered both areas for several dance performances. As the resident designer and technical director at Saint Michael's College for 25 years and for seven years before that at Marquette University, I frequently designed both scenery and lighting for productions and served as the TD. I typically supervised stage managers, scenic artists, sound designers, and props managers, and served as my own lead electrician. When not designing, I supervised the student designers. Since 2017, I have also directed four productions in addition to designing and serving as technical director. The buttons below link to a complete list of scenic and lighting design credits and to documentation for some of the process involved in the Spring 2026 production of Antlia Pneumatica by Anne Washburn at Saint Michael's College.
